A fixed gas detection system permanently monitors the work environment for possible gas hazards, ensuring maximum safety. Even the smallest gas leak will trigger an alarm to enable action to be taken. More than 500 different gases and vapours can be monitored with GfG fixed systems.

A fixed system consists of a transmitter and controller. These controllers can be connected as single-channel systems for just 1 transmitter, up to 8-channels for 1 controller – or with a rack mounted system as many transmitters as are required.

To ensure the highest levels of personal safety, GfG develops compact, robust and high quality portable instruments. Electrochemical, catalytic, infrared or PID sensors are used to detect all gas hazards which may be present in the work area.

GfG offers solutions for every application, from 1-gas to up to 7-gases at the same time. Very loud audible alarms, high visibility flashing and multi-colour visual alarms and vibration alarms are used to ensure that the worker is immediately alerted to gas hazards even in dark and noisy environments. Long sensor lifetime, low cost of ownership, ease of use and high quality are all trademarks of GfG portable gas detectors.

Measuring and monitoring liquids in different engineering circuits is the field we are involved in day by day. Whether in sewage treatment, water treatment, swimming pools, chemical plants, refrigeration installations or the food industry - each medium imposes its own specific measuring requirement. Minimal impurities can harm human beings, products or equipment.

The GMA100 and GMA300 series are rack-mounted microprocessor-based control and monitoring systems for all measurement tasks. Depending on the transmitter connected, the GMA100 or GMA300 series form a discrete gas detection system for detection of toxic, oxygen or flammable gases. The wide variety of functions and high degree of flexibility available mean that the systems can be adapted for all gas detection tasks. 3 alarm thresholds per can be set per detector. Additional relay and alarm functions are available.

Switchgear cabinets or additional housings are not necessary. Together with the appropriate transmitters, GMA80 series controllers provide a complete fixed gas detection system for a wide range of different flammable and toxic gases, and oxygen. All transmitter types can be attached. The GMA80 series controllers supply the attached transmitters with power and process input signals received. The controllers support 2- and 3-wire inputs and supply power to the attached transmitters. Multiple measuring points can be monitored at the same time.

In all areas where flammable gases or vapours are found, explosive gas mixtures can accumulate unexpectedly and very quickly. Regulations from the supervisory authorities, and the operator’s responsibility for the protection of people and plant demand continuous monitoring of the area.

Oxygen is essential for human life. The oxygen concentration in normal air should be 20.9% by volume. Under normal conditions, fluctuations in this important oxygen concentration are extremely small. The human body is very sensitive to changes in the level of oxygen in breathing air. Oxygen deficiency leads to tiredness as one of the first symptoms. This means that the operator’s efficiency and safety while operating plant and machinery is quickly impaired. A decrease of oxygen concentration of only 5 % can cause breathing difficultly and damage to health.

In many areas gas is often used in processes, or stored, shipped and produced as a by-product in certain industrial applications. Often, these gases are toxic and dangerous to health. Additionally, most toxic gases (e.g. carbon monoxide CO) are not detected by sight, taste or smell. The smallest concentrations can cause acute toxic shock and even permanent damage to health. To detect toxic gases, GfG uses different sensor technologies.

The transmitter CS21 uses the proven chemosorption principle for detection of toxic and combustible gases and vapours. The extremely short response time of the transmitter enables the user to take action quickly to prevent damage to people and plant. Long sensor life makes the CS21 an economic alternative.

The sensor can often be used continuously for 5 years, before replacement is required. A wide temperature range from -40°C to + 60 °C makes the CS21 useful for a variety of applications, particularly for the protection of refrigeration plants.
