E MARK
According to EC Directive and ECE Regulation, any automobiles, motorcycles and their parts and accessories imported to Europe must comply with related regulations to ensure safety and environmental protection. Products with E/e mark indicates the compliance. After October, 2002, E/e mark became compulsory; CE mark no longer applied to the automotive and motorcycle products.BRIGHTSTAR has the E MARK not only for the HID ballast, but also for the OE HID bulbs, D2S, D2R & D1S. CE/FCC/C-TICK
The CE MARK proves that the product conforms to EU health and safety standards, based on the appropriate EU regulations, such as the low-voltage or electromagnetic compatibility directive. A CE declaration of conformity means the product has right of way onto the European market.FCC stands for the U.S. Federal Communications Commission requiring that all customer-premise telecom equipment and network-attached telecom equipment meet minimum compliance standards.Australian import conditions require that products have undergone successful safety checks(C-TICK) based on IEC-standards. The standards for electromagnetic compatibility are in line with European norms. WEEE & RoHS
The WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive 2002/96/EC and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2002/95/EC are having an enormous impact on producers and distributors of electronic and electrical goods. CIRCLE PSE MAKR
The purpose of the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry(METI) in Japan is to prevent hazards and disturbances resulting from electrical appliances. There have been more and more accidents about lithium-ion battery explosion recently. Therefore, regulations on the lithium-ion battery were included and came into effect on November 20, 2008.The lithium-ion battery used in electrical appliances must meet every mandatory technical requirement in the law and must be labeled with the PSE mark (circle for battery & diamond for charger). Failure to do so will not be allowed to sell or use in Japan.The Japan circle PSE mark can be regarded as the strictest regulations for the lithium-ion battery nowadays.All BRIGHTSTAR lithium-ion battery packs used in the HID & LED torches are PSE marked. ATEX
Equipment or protective systems for use in – or in conjunction with – potentially explosive atmospheres in the European Union, products need to conform to the ATEX (ATmospheres EXplosibles) directive.The directive's scope includes safety devices, controlling devices, and regulating devices, as well as equipment intended for use outside potentially explosive atmospheres, but required for or contributing to the safe functioning of equipment and protective systems.The certification must be done through factory inspection and field evaluation.Some of BRIGHTSTAR LED torches are ATEX approved (EX marked).(Reference: TÜV Rheinland)

IP68(100M underwater)
Ingress Protection (IP) ratings are developed by the European Committee for Electro Technical Standardization (CENELEC) (NEMA IEC 60529 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures - IP Code), specifying the environmental protection the enclosure provides.The IP rating normally has two numbers: 1. Protection from solid objects or materials
2. Protection from liquids (water)

IP First number - Protection against solid objects; 6 means totally protected against dust.IP Second number - Protection against liquids; 8 means protected against long periods of immersion under pressure(7 means immersion between 15 cm and 1 m)Some of BRIGHTSTAR HID & LED torches are IP68 rated.
