A new guide to human resources best practice

SAI Global Limited has published the first in a series of Standards Australia
handbooks taking an organisation-wide approach to human resources.

The Chief Executive of SAI Global, Mr Ross Wraight, said: "As the market leader
in the publication and distribution of standards and training and conformity
assessment services in Australia we are always looking for the most up to date
and relevant publications for the business community in Australia. This latest
guide will be of great benefit to the human resource industry and business more
widely."

The guide provides information on the latest practices and research on topics
including recruitment, selection and retention, remuneration and rewards,
outsourcing, communication and leadership.

According to the General Manager of Business Publishing at SAI Global, Mr
Howard Paul: "This is a high level document focusing on human resources better
practice and supports the comprehensive human resources guides already
available to industry."

It will be an extremely useful tool for all those in the HR industry as it
translates better practice and research on human resources into a form that is
meaningful and relevant for application by practitioners.

It will help practitioners to locate the information they need and to assess
which initiatives are likely to produce the best results in their
organization.

It is clear that there are many emerging good practices that HR managers should
be aware of and this guide helps HR managers to determine which human resource
strategies are best aligned with the culture, goals and objectives of their
organization.
