Carros – August 1st, 2007 – DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the Arc Flash Harnesses and lanyards for users needing fall protection in potential arc flash environments.
“For utility workers, arc flashes are a common hazard of the job and in order to be protected, they need equipment specifically designed to meet the demands of this environment, whether they are working in an elevated mobile work platform, on a pylon, on a transformer or in other industries where high voltage electricity is a concern.” said Peter Blackburn, soft goods product manager for DBI-SALA & PROTECTA Europe.
This new range of products includes an ExoFit™ XP Arc Flash Harness without belt, the Delta™ II Arc Flash Harness with belt and two shock absorbing lanyards.
The ExoFit™ XP Arc Flash harness is based on the concept of a single piece of material constructed in the shape of an “X” that wraps around you for the ultimate in no-tangle donning and comfortable security. The shoulder, hip and leg padding in Nomex/Kevlar keep you comfortable during long hours of work increasing productivity
The Delta™ Arc Flash harness features a new No-Tangle back pad design which maintains the shape of the harness, making it easier to put on. Both harnesses are made with nylon webbing equipped with a variety of features that make them ideal for utility work, including a PVC coated D-ring and leather insulators under the fasteners for reduced risk of electricity transfer.
The lanyards feature a Nomex/Kevlar fabric shock-absorbing cover and web loops. Unique polyester webbing incorporates Resist Technology, an extruded polyurethane coating for ultimate protection, durability and longevity, resistant to grease, oil and dirt, making the products very easy to care for, they just wipe clean in seconds.
