Construction Safety Documents available in Turkish, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Urdu and Punjabi

The British Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published new translations of
its publication on safety on construction sites.

Six foreign language translations of the title are now available, in Polish,
Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Urdu and Punjabi.

The publication explains that construction is a high-risk industry and suggests
the "High 5” of steps to keep workers safe and healthy:

High 1: the basics of tidy sites and decent welfare

High 2: falls from height

High 3: manual handling

High 4: transport

High 5: asbestos.

The HSE says key steps include:

  • planning and organising activities
  • making sure workers are trained and competent and know the special risks in
    the trade
  • raising problems with the supervisor or safety representative.
