The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has published a simple guide
with which to assist in the orientation of efforts towards the occupational
safety and health elements of the 6th Framework Programme on Research (FPR).
Written for occupational safety and health (OSH) researchers, the guide
provides an easy-to-navigate road map to highlighting areas where they could
get involved. According to the guide OSH research is relevant to 11 key
priority areas of the Programme. In many cases it will be a question of safety
and health at work being a component of a broader research application, for
example related to thematic areas like Information society technologies and New
production processes and hazard control. But OSH is also indicated as a key
theme within specific activities for small and medium-sized enterprises.
As well as providing extracts of OSH-relevant areas of the Framework Programme
on Research, the Agency’s guide lists all key deadlines, contacts at the
European Commission and includes a comprehensive set of links to further
information and full work programmes.
