Hainsworth global sales drive

Press Release: October 2011
A leading British textile manufacturer is looking to increase its global sales with a major campaign to provide firefighters with the very best personal protective equipment.
British fire brigades including West Midlands, London, Nottinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Devon & Somerset already use Hainsworth® TITAN, as do firefighters in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and parts of Sweden and Germany.
Hainsworth, which is exhibiting at A + A, has now launched a sales and marketing drive with the goal of growing its market share in Europe while also breaking further into the Middle East, United States and Australia.
The company believes that its combination of fibre, weaving and finishing technologies offer firefighters the ultimate in high performance fabrics.
Hainsworth® TITAN is a patented double cloth construction with Nomex® on the face to provide optimal thermal protection, abrasion resistance and colour fastness, and Kevlar® on the back to provide strength. The kits offer exceptional heat and flame protection, chemical resistance, heat stress management capabilities and comfort.
Hainsworth is exhibiting around the globe over the next six months. In addition to A + A, it has already attended the Australasian Fire and Emergency Services Authorities Council (AFAC) conference in Sydney and will exhibit at Intersec, Dubai, in January.
Charlotte Brandt, Sales Manager for Hainsworth Protectives, said: “We will be taking three core messages to each of these events to demonstrate to firefighters around the globe why our unique patented fabrics continue to set the benchmark within the protective fabrics industry.
“Hainsworth protective fabrics deliver design that saves; protection that shows; and quality that lasts.
“Our fabrics have been specifically designed for every situation – from everyday wear to high-risk flashovers.
“However, one of the most important aspects for us is the protection our fabrics give firefighters against heat stress – the biggest global threat to firefighter health and safety.
“We understand that managing heat stress is about more than just flashovers and have ensured that our fabrics are highly breathable allowing firefighters to perform at their best whatever the situation.”
Hainsworth, which is based in Yorkshire, England, has over 225 years of textile expertise and has been at the forefront of protective fabric innovation for more than 100 years, working with the emergency services and the military.
Developed by the Hainsworth Innovation Centre, the company’s unique TI-technology TM solutions include Hainsworth® ATLAS, Hainsworth® TITAN and Hainsworth® METIS.
