WICHITA, Kan. – September 7, 2011 – INVISTA’s CORDURA® brand team will participate in the 2011 A+A Safety, Security and Health at Work International Trade Fair Oct. 18--21 in Düsseldorf, Germany. At the show, the brand will debut the new range of CORDURA® NYCO fabrics available from Penfabric and showcase latest collections by leading workwear brands such as F. “We are excited to share our newest fabric innovations, end-use products incorporating CORDURA® fabric and authorized mills at this year’s A+A show,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “We strive to continually advance CORDURA® fabric technologies to meet the evolving needs of our customers and are looking forward to showcasing our new booth design which is geared towards helping attendees better experience the durable possibilities with CORDURA® brand fabrics for the ever-evolving needs of today’s workwear segment.”
In line with the CORDURA® brand team's commitment to developing innovative and protective fabrics for the workwear industry, a new range of CORDURA® NYCO fabrics from Malaysian based Penfabric, part of the Japanese Toray Group of companies, will be introduced to the European workwear market. The new range includes four fabrics, each in an intimate blend of 75 percent cotton, 25 percent high strength INVISTA T420 nylon 6.6. The fabrics are available in twill and panama constructions in weights of 325gr/m2 and 380gr/m2, and are suitable for a wide range of garment types such as trousers, jackets, coveralls and bib and braces. Comfortably durable CORDURA® NYCO fabrics are particularly valuable for harsh working conditions especially in areas where high stress is imparted on the garment.
Another CORDURA® NYCO fabric technology - Vantage fabric by leading workwear fabric manufacturer Klopman International will be highlighted in Danish garment maker’s, F. Engel, eye-catching new Tech Zone range. With an emphasis on comfort and performance, Klopman Vantage fabric utilizes a blend of 50/50 cotton and high tenacity INVISTA T420 nylon 6.6 to deliver a durable and comfortable alternative to established polyester/cotton workwear fabrics.
In addition Klopman, is introducing Havana and Merida, two stretch fabrics based on LYCRA® T400® fibre from INVISTA. Both products have been developed to combine the highly durable elastic properties of LYCRA® T400® fibre with an excellent wash and wear performance. They ideally complement Klopman's existing fabric options using LYCRA® T400® fibre, with the additional benefit of being suitable for high temperature industrial laundering. Garments made from Havana and Merida will offer the wearer a high level of comfort and freedom of movement, based on the excellent stretch and moisture management properties of the LYCRA® T400® fibre. Fabrics come in two different weights and blends – 285 g/m² Havana in 53% polyester, 29% cotton, 18% EME LYCRA® T400® fibre, and 205 g/m² Merida in 43% polyester, 35% cotton, 22% EME LYCRA® T400® fibre – to allow the industry to develop garments for a wide range of end use applications."
Techs (by Textil Santanderina, S.A) is also working with INVISTA on a range of fabrics with LYCRA® T400® fiber. Pedro Gonzalez, responsible for sales of technical fabrics at Techs, says that LYCRA® T400® fiber provides fabrics with and added value based on comfort, durability and possibility to withstand high temperature laundries. With an initial range of fabrics from 130grs/m2 till 260gr/m2, Techs hope to satisfy workwear market needs for durable stretch fabrics.
Blåkläder – a leading workwear company in Sweden for 50 years – has become a key manufacturer in Europe, with recent expansion into North America. Its extensive workwear collections include CORDURA® fabric reinforcements for knees, elbows, and pockets, along with a new CORDURA® Denim fabric trouser to be showcased at the A+A show.
Furthermore Quirzetex is moving forward with first XFIT LYCRA® fabric for the workwear market. Jordi Riera, general manager, states that bi-stretch fabrics for workwear applications containing LYCRA® T400® fiber, provide garments with an excellent fit and comfort. Adoption of such technology brings Quirzetex one step beyond the standard mono-stretch fabrics in the marketplace today.
Praybourne, a speciality supplier of protective clothing and accessories ranging from Hi-Vis jackets to fire retardant underwear, have developed a new Hi-Vis workwear back pack sold under the Pulsarail™ brand. This will be available to view at the CORDURA® brand booth to showcase the versatility of CORDURA® fabric. “It is exciting when we see trends being shared between markets,” said Cindy McNaull, global CORDURA® brand and marketing director. “As a leader in durable fabrics for outdoor end-uses – particularly in packs and daypacks – Praybourne’s adoption of CORDURA® fabric was a natural fit.”
