LION at A+A Dusseldorf 2011

LION Apparel Germany, a member of the LHD Group of Companies, showcases several innovations, including a new generation of V-Force® fire fighting suits, at the forthcoming A+A (18 – 21 October, Dusseldorf, Germany). Effective October 1, these suits are also available in red colour.
Cologne, August 31, 2011. LION Apparel Germany (LION), part of the global LHD Group based in Cologne (Germany), exhibits its latest range of PPE on stand D60 in hall 4 at the A+A 2011 in Dusseldorf (October 18 – 21). This is the leading European fair for safety, security, and health at work. The show provides a platform for brand new products, services, and trends.
Key attraction at the LION stand is the new generation of patented high-tech structural V-Force® fire fighting suits. These include several design improvements as well as a new innovative three-layered inner lining. The latter is not only flame-retardant but also features an active moisture management system. This allows perspiration to escape so that there is no heat build-up within the suit. The new fire fighting suits are exhibited in colours red and gold. The red colour version will be launched on October 1. Furthermore, a new range of PPE approved for use on ships and oil platforms will be shown on the stand.
The LION PPE range is complemented by the unique LION TOTALCARE® Service. This has been honoured by several awards. For example, in 2009 the administrative district of Offenbach received the Innovation Prize of the Federal Ministry of Economy for implementing a new procurement and clothing management service for 2200 members of volunteer fire brigades, emergency and security services. The underlying LION TOTALCARE® Service had generated significant savings and service improvements.

“We are very proud that we can showcase several brand new products at this year’s A+A. They demonstrate our continuous drive for innovation. The new inner lining of the V-Force® fire fighting suits virtually sucks the body moisture from the skin. It protects fire fighters better from scalding and also increases their safety, sense of well-being and wear comfort. Fire fighters feel longer comfortable dry in these suits,“ explains Peter Meffert, Sales Manager Region West. “In addition our successful cooling braces can be tested on our stand. They also actively help to reduce heat stress. Beside these active cooling solutions LION exhibits a passive cooling system for the first time at the A+A. This is an “aerated moisture barrier”, a membrane which sets new standards in terms of breathability.“

“With more than 1500 exhibitors from 60 countries and visitors from even more nations the A+A offers us an excellent opportunity to showcase our large international service offering in the segments fire fighting and PPE,“ explains Peter Meffert. “Naturally we shall also exhibit corporate fashion, work wear and military and security clothing solutions of the LHD Group.“ LION and the LHD Group have won numerous tenders of fire departments (e.g. Hong Kong, Hamburg, Regensburg) as well as industry clients (e.g. Daimler, BASF) and associations (e.g. ADAC) in recent years.
