Makefast Limited, one the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of industrial safety buckles and components will be exhibiting at this year’s A+A international safety trade show in Dusseldorf this Autumn.
Once again, Makefast will be showing their complete range of safety products, including some innovative new designs for 2003/2004. Makefast will be showing no less than four new product groups at the show, including:
1. The Control Buckle and Pressed Cranked Delta Triangle for work positioning applications.
2. The Rapid Don primary closure harness buckle.
3. The new 22KN safety hooks
4. The new Hi-Click high strength plastic harness buckle.
The new Control Buckle and Pressed Cranked Delta Triangle offer an ideal solution for OEMs in the work positioning market.
Designed for 45mm webbing, the Control Buckle offers ease of handling, with a unique locking mechanism that works in both directions preventing movement when in critical working situations (such as pole top work, or exposed building environments). The locking system is such that even when released, the webbing never runs freely, and so can be easily controlled at all times.
The Pressed Cranked Delta Triangle works perfectly with the control buckle offering a double 45mm webbing slot and a cranked design that enhances user comfort and offers an accessible attachment location.
Both products have been designed to meet or exceed all current and proposed standards, each having a 15KN breaking load and being manufactured in Type 316 stainless steel making them suitable for all industrial and marine environments.
Also aimed at the fall arrest and harness OEMs, the Rapid Don Buckle offers market leading ease of use, comfort and security. Evolved from Makefast’s renowned Fast Donning Buckles for the Marine Life Jacket market, the Rapid Don Buckle offers a 15KN breaking load with a unique articulating action that reduces webbing twist, so enhancing both safety and comfort for the harness user. The buckle offers a simple “click to close” locking mechanism, with a secure lifting tab release system. Webbing adjustment is made simple by the sliding bar arrangement, making this a truly user friendly design.
Manufactured in Type 316 stainless steel, with a nylon enclosure, the buckle is suitable for extreme industrial environments and has been designed specifically as a primary closure for fall arrest harnesses. It is available now for 50mm (2 inch) webbing.
Now in full production, the new range of Makefast Safety Hooks offer the renowned and proven Makefast double action locking mechanism with a higher load capability, making them suitable for use as connectors in virtually any fall arrest or life critical application.
The new models both offer a 22KN Working load capacity (measured by a straight tensile static load test). The 0200S, is the high strength version of the standard Makefast 0200 safety hook, with double action locking and a high performance Nylon fairing for added protection and ease of handling. The 0200S fixes to attachments up to 20mm in diameter.
The all new 0233 All Stainless Safety Hook, represents the latest evolution in the family, using all stainless components with no plastic fairing. Combined with a slightly modified profile and all stainless locking system, the new hook is ideal for all extreme environments, from Fire Service use to offshore. The hook has an operational working load of 22KN and can fix to attachments up to 22mm in diameter.
Finally, the revolutionary new Makefast Hi-Click High Strength plastic buckle will be available on the stand.
This new buckle, designed and developed at Makefast, offers a breakthrough in plastic buckle performance, ease of use, security and value.
Designed for 40mm webbing, the buckle has been independently tested to over 200kg straight pull with no deformation or webbing slip. As such we rate the product with a 200KG breaking load – one of the only plastic products on the market that achieves this.
Working hand in hand with the high load capacity is the double action locking system that offers “big buckle” security in an entry level product. The Hi-Click has a simple, standard push to lock mechanism, with a double action side release system offering both familiarity with competitive buckles but far greater security. To release the user must FULLY depress BOTH side buttons. The buckle CANNOT release unless this is done.
Samples of this and all new products will be available for testing at the show.
Makefast will be available on Stand 5M14, Hall 5 at the A+A, Dusseldorf. To arrange a sales meeting at the show please contact our sales team on +44 (0) 1686 629010, or visit the stand on the day.
