Occupational Road Risk

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has issued a new
website for fleet managers. Fleet bosses have shown particular interest in
factsheets and training course outlines, with nearly 100 being downloaded every
day.

As well as providing full details of RoSPA products and training courses, it
has factsheets on subjects such as speed cameras, mobile phones and driving,
safe journey planning, winter driving and choosing safer vehicles. There are
sections on the importance of managing occupational road risk and the latest
situation with regulations and legislation.

The website features especially factsheets on:

  • Mobile Phones and Driving
  • Managing Occupational Road Risk in Voluntary Organisations
  • Truck Braking and Stopping Distances
  • The Use of Automatic Gearboxes
  • The Risk of Using A Mobile Phone While Driving
  • Safe Journey Planner
  • Drivers and Vulnerable Road Users
  • Choosing Safer Vehicles
  • Minibus Safety - A Code of Practice
  • Speed Cameras Factsheet
  • Be a Better, Safer Driver - Winter Hazards
  • Eyesight and Driving

Furthermore there are useful links to other safety websites, government
departments, publications and organisations at home and abroad.
