Online tools for the assessment and design of employed and voluntary or private work

To improve of the transfer of reliable ergonomic knowledge into professional life the Wuppertal ASER-institute develops online-tools for the assessment of employed and voluntary or private work as well as for the establishment and definition of suitable design measures. These interactive tools are placed at disposal and addressed to operational as well as private individuals on the website www.aser.uni-wuppertal.de under the heading 'instruments' for on-line application.
The web-based tools for the assessment and design of employed and voluntary or private work are developed based on self-won findings derived from research projects on the one hand and the state of the art of technology on the other. The tools particularly find acceptance by the operational participants, because besides the automatically derived assessment and judgement result, in each case also endangering- and/or risk-specific design possibilities and alternatives to improve the situation are provided. That means, that beyond the assessment attempt the tools pursue an action-orientated management concept. Moreover, in the beginning of 2003 the Wuppertal ASER institute has designed its website free of barrier as a contribution to the "European Year 2003 of people with handicaps".
