This is how a safe rescue from an extreme situation works - the cooperation partners German Life Saving Association (DLRG) and Technisches Hilfswerk (THW) show how it can work three times a day in Hall 7a.
A+A 2019 will include once again the special show entitled “Safe Rescues”. The event will be held in cooperation with the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and the German Life Saving Association (DLRG). “Using a diving pool and a roofed-over climbing facility, the demonstrations will feature rescue operations of accident victims in extreme situations, both above and under water,” says Birgit Horn, Director of A+A 2019 from Messe Düsseldorf.
The scenario: During a heavy rainfall, an employee checks the basement of the plant for possible damage. Suddenly, torrential water penetrates and the way out of the cellar is blocked. While fleeing from the water, the employee is injured. With the last of his strength he can save himself on a shelf and make an emergency call. Divers and altitude rescuers from DLRG and THW hurry to the rescue.
At the "Safe Rescue" special show in and around the six-metre-long diving pool, visitors to the trade fair can follow how the DLRG and THW volunteers rescue the trapped person. They will see how such an operation works, how the safe rescue succeeds, which technology is used and what the emergency forces undertake for their own protection.
The demonstrations will be running live in Hall 7a on each day of the trade fair. The focus will be on the occupational safety of helpers and on appropriate personal protection equipment (e.g. fall protection). Of course, the experts are available every day for questions and discussions.
