Lakeland’s stand at A&A in Dusseldorf will profile Tomtex, the company’s latest development in chemical protection. Using a remarkably lightweight PE film coated material with a unique 3 layer construction, Tomtex provides both excellent chemical splash protection and offers a high level of comfort compared to most chemical protective coveralls.
The material features an effective barrier against a broad range of commonly used industrial and agricultural chemicals. At the same time, it is very light and flexible, yet tough and resilient. The coverall is constructed using stitched and taped seams – intrinsically stronger and more durable than the ultrasonic welded seams commonly used for this type of product. The seams not only provide excellent strength characteristics, they also offer an impervious seal against liquid chemical splashes.
Unlike many chemical suits, Tomtex is a subdued green colour, making it ideal in situation where sensitive public perception may be as important as the protection of the wearer. In addition the coverall design features a double flap fastening with easy release Velcro.
The combination of material, sealed seams and suit design enables CE approval to Types 3 & 4 in a coverall that is remarkably wearable in everyday industrial and agricultural applications requiring chemical splash protection.
