The Skywalker polyurethane line is already reputed for its ultimate comfort and longevity properties. The unique composition of anti-fatigue matting is an ergonomic pattern and a cushioning underlay which stimulates continuous micro-movements of the feet minimizing blood pooling in the legs.
The Skywalker HD™ takes this concept into a new dimension. The secret to the Skywalker HD™ lies in the unique design and craftsmanship that make the mat easy to handle and easy to install while offering maximum comfort and industrial strength.
Made from a heavy duty rubber compound, the Skywalker HD™ offers extreme wear resistance. The Skywalker HD™ has an ergonomic bubble that stimulates blood flow and prevents fatigue in standing workers. The mat surface is augmented with a grit pattern for additional anti-slip properties and combined with bevelled safety edges, the Skywalker HD™ also contributes to preventing slips, trips and falls in the workplace.
4 Versions: Natural Rubber, Nitrile, ESD or Fire Retardant
The Skywalker HD™ is available in a selection of compounds for specialized industrial applications such as general purpose, oil-proof or ESD static dissipative.
The natural rubber compound is recommended for general purpose applications in dry industrial areas. A 100% nitrile rubber version is also available that is resistant to oils, greases and other industrial fluids. The Skywalker HD™ ESD is formulated to drain static electricity from workers and fulfills the requirement of category DIF (static dissipative) with a vertical resistance between 10*6 – 10*9 Ohms. The Skywalker HD™ FR has a Bfl-S1 fire rating tested according to EN-13501-1.
Modular and Moulded
Skywalker HD™ is available as 91 cm x 91 cm modular tiles that interlock to create custom-designed matting solutions for any work station that can easily be installed on site, relocated or recreated. Bevelled safety ramps allow inside and outside corners to finish off the custom solution. Skywalker HD™ mat tiles can even be separated into 30 cm x 30 cm sections for smaller or uncommon configurations. Skywalker HD™ also comes in standard size moulded mats with bevelled ramps for a ready-made solution.
The Skywalker HD™ series has now been expanded with the Skywalker HD Curve™, a 45-degree curved mat for creating rounded corners, S-curves and even full circles. The Skywalker HD Curve™ is also available in four compounds to integrate seamless with all Skywalker HD™ configurations.
The Skywalker HD Yellow™ is a yellow safety stip that can be used to create safety boundaries, borders, mark walkways and working zones.
Standing on hard surfaces for long periods has been proven to lead to discomfort and fatigue. Long-term standing causes muscles to constrict, reducing blood flow. This makes muscles and joints hurt, and it causes blood to stagnate. So it is no surprise that documented complaints of lower back pain is highest in workers who stand 4 hours or more per day.
Research, dating back to 1972, documents the consequences of fatigue in workers and how it can be improved by the use of an anti-fatigue mat. A new study by prof. Redha Taiar (2011) of University of Reims compared the effects of fatigue on workers standing on the hard floor to working standing on an anti-fatigue mat. The results illustrated that an anti-fatigue mat enables correct balance and a uniform distribution of weight between the right and left leg as well as substantially reduced pain.
