Link confirmed between exposure to pesticides and Parkinson diseases

A team of researchers from the French Inserm Neuroepidemiology Unit and the
UPMC have shown that exposure to pesticides virtually doubles the risk of
occurrence of Parkinsons disease with farmers. This risk increases with the
number of years of exposure and, with men, is principally related to the use of
pesticides, in particular organochlorine pesticides. These results, which also
raise the question of the role of a residual contamination of the general
population by these pesticides, are published online in Annals of Neurology.
