Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment

In early 2009, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) started to draft a series
of updates related to the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical
Safety Assessment. These updates had become necessary to fill in gaps or to add
clarifications to the existing guidance. The updates also aimed at keeping the
guidance aligned with the development of ECHA’s Chemicals Safety Assessment and
Reporting Tool, Chesar.

Three of these updates were recently published:

  • Guidance on Exposure Scenario Format (Part D: Exposure Scenario Building”,
    Part F: CSR Format Chapter),

  • Guidance Chapter R.14 “Occupational exposure estimation”

  • Guidance ChapterR16 “Environmental exposure estimation”

The updates supersede and replace the previous guidance documents.
