Tractor overturns are a serious risk for fatal injuries among farmers. An
article in USA Today (Nov 3) notes the US-American National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) research on the problem and highlights a
NIOSH-funded program in the university-based Northeast Center for Agricultural
and Occupational Health to encourage farmers to reduce their risk of tractor
rollovers by retrofitting older tractors with roll bars and seatbelts.
