Digital and sustainable: PGP presents new products and services in occupational skin care at A+A

Occupational skin care and hand hygiene have become increasingly important in recent years. It is now clear to all concerned that skin protection, skin cleansing, skin care and hand disinfection products make a valuable contribution to the prevention of occupational skin diseases. These need to be coordinated as part of a systematic skin care approach and professional advice is essential. The German skin care and hand hygiene specialists from Peter Greven Physioderm (PGP), based in Euskirchen near Cologne, will be presenting their extensive range of dispensers and products, as well as their wide range of services, at A+A. At the booth of the industry's innovation leader in Hall 14, the focus will be on four topics:a new generation of dispensing systems for optimal and hygienic dosage of skin care products; PGP's commitment to sustainability and the products certified in this context; the Euskirchen-based company's extensive digital service package; and its UV and insect protection products, which are set to become even more important in the future due to the effects of climate change.

New Dispensing System for All Kinds of Skin Care Products

"Even the most effective hand disinfection, skin protection, cleansing or skin care products are ineffective if they are not used and dispensed correctly," says Stephanie Reichenberger, PGP's Head of International Marketing. Therefore, dispensing systems are an essential part of any hand hygiene and skin care concept. At the A+A in Düsseldorf, the world's leading trade fair for safe and healthy working, PGP is presenting a new generation of dispensing systems: the Variomat Pro Touchless and the Variomat Pro Standard. The Variomat Pro Touchless is very compact and works without contact using a capacitive sensor. This has the advantage that it is much more accurate than the familiar infrared sensors. Malfunctions are a thing of the past. It is completely hygienic, as the product does not come into contact with the dispenser, very robust and lockable. The Variomat Pro Touchless is equipped with 1 L collapsible bottles, which has the advantage that products for skin protection and skin cleansing as well as for skin care and hand disinfection are available in this container. The electronic touchless version will be available from the fourth quarter of 2023. The Variomat Pro Standard is available earlier. It has the same product features but is manually operated. Like all PGP dispensers, the two Variomat Pro models also work perfectly under high loads and are extremely economical.

Renewable Ingredients and Recyclable Materials

Sustainability is a very important topic in occupational safety and skin care. It is no coincidence that the organisers of the A+A have defined sustainability as a key theme alongside digitalisation. PGP took up the challenge of environmentally and socially responsible production early on. For example, PGP uses renewable raw materials wherever possible. Today, more than 90 percent of the ingredients used by PGP come from renewable sources. The liquid cleaner Ecosan, for example, has been awarded both the prestigious Blue Angel and the EU Ecolabel. In addition to recyclable materials and the increased use of recyclates, the focus is on lighter containers that are easier to empty.

Wide Range of Digital Services

In addition to personal consultations, PGP offers a wide range of digital services consisting of various modules. These include the Hand Care Plan Configurator (www.handcareplan.com), which can be used to create hand care plans online with just a few clicks. The tool is aimed at corporate skin care managers, occupational health practitioners and safety engineers. It is versatile, intuitive to use, can be customised, is always up to date and takes a lot of work off the shoulders of those responsible. A special feature is automatic translation: unmodified texts can be translated by the system into 14 foreign languages. This means that employees from different backgrounds can read and apply the hand care plan correctly, reducing the risk of skin disease. "Direct advice and dialogue with our customers remain essential for us," says Stephanie Reichenberger. "At the same time, we are convinced that digital services are becoming increasingly important. We want to continue to build on our pioneering role in this area and be a reliable partner for our customers and all interested parties."

All-Around Protection for Outdoor Workers

PGP also wants to be a reliable partner for all those people who spend a large proportion of their working hours outdoors. These so-called outdoor workers, of which there are 7.2 million in Germany according to recent estimates, are at risk from the effects of climate change in many ways. For example, the warmer climate is leading to increased exposure to the sun's UV rays, and there are increasing numbers of exotic mosquito species and ticks, both of which can carry dangerous pathogens. UV and insect protection for outdoor work will become even more important in the future. With its products, PGP offers all-around protection for outdoor workers, which the Euskirchen-based company is presenting in Düsseldorf. The skin care experts have the widest range of UV protection products in the industry and offer the right skin protection products for all occupational groups. The extra waterproof and fragrance-free Physio UV 50 Spray is particularly popular. PGP is also a leader in insect and tick protection with Myxal Insect Protect, which is making its A+A debut. The insect repellent spray repels insects and ticks through their sense of smell. PGP uses the active ingredient Icaridin, which is very gentle on skin and materials.

All interested parties are cordially invited to visit booth C34 / D34 in Hall 14 to talk to PGP's skin care experts. To make this consultation-intensive topic more tangible, the popular wax cloning will once again be available. Guests can have a wax model of their hand made. This will demonstrate the importance of skin care before work and how much easier it is to cleanse the skin afterwards. This is because the wax is much easier to remove from a hand that has been moisturised beforehand than from an untreated hand. "This literally makes the issue tangible," says Stephanie Reichenberger, PGP’s Head of International Marketing.
