Düsseldorf, 2 January 2025 – The A+A Expert Talks series continues its success story. On 5 November 2024, the focus was on sustainability in personal protective equipment (PPE). Leading experts such as Christine Hentschel, Business Development Manager Sustainability at UVEX Safety Group, and Bernadette Niehaus, Sustainability Manager PSD EMEA at 3M Deutschland GmbH, presented forward-looking solutions for eco-friendly and practical PPE. Interest was high: with a large turnout of decision-makers hailing from various industries, the event underscored its relevance for the future of the PPE industry.
On the basis of best practices, it was demonstrated how recycled materials such as polyester and reprocessed nylon can be successfully used in the PPE industry. These innovative approaches allow companies to manufacture high-quality and durable products while meeting their sustainability goals.
Furthermore, strategies for reducing waste, implementing recycling programmes and promoting repair services were discussed, which contribute to the circular economy. Another area of focus was training and raising awareness among staff. Regular training on sustainable practices and the proper care of PPE not only maximises the lifespan of the equipment itself but also promotes awareness about environmental protection and safety within the company.
Commenting on this Lars Wismer, Director of A+A, emphasised: ‘The A+A Expert Talks offer our community a unique opportunity to actively swop ideas about the future of personal protective equipment. Particularly when it comes to sustainability, joint efforts are crucial. By sharing our knowledge and experiences, we can promote sustainable, practical solutions that both protect our environment and improve safety in the workplace. Our goal is to foster innovation through this open dialogue and learn from each other as a community so as to create a more sustainable future in the field of occupational safety.’
The next Expert Talk will be dedicated to the trending topic of exoskeletons and will be held on 11 February 2025. The focus will be on exciting use cases that demonstrate how companies can gain a clear competitive edge through the targeted use of exoskeletons. In addition, the latest study results from the A+A 2023 Exoworkathlon will be presented, offering valuable insights and perspectives.
The Expert Talks are the ideal way to prepare for A+A 2025, where these and other topics will be explored in greater depth in a wide range of specialist forums and on the Live Fashion stage. A+A 2025 offers a unique opportunity to discover the latest trends and innovations in the fields of occupational safety, digitalisation and sustainability, and to benefit from practical insights and expert knowledge.
