Humour and Fun at Work

The British Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) draws attention to a new
independent Compass Research report 'Perking up British office workers'. The
results reveal the importance of social interaction and the human side of
working life such as communication and humour in the office. The report
concludes that humour and fun are alive and well in the British workplace, but
bosses need to lighten up at the office.

Psychologist Dr Alessandra Lemma comments: 'Work is vital to our mental health.
For most people, work is one of the best therapies available and one for which
we get paid. The survey offers some explanation for the important function of
work to our emotional well-being.'
